Let's face it, we're damn lucky. (Yes, even Z, considering what he's got left after the theft!)
Here's THANKS to all the members of the kiting community that made this Bay Area season totally fun. Great wind (though better seasons are on record!) good friends, raging parties and killer equipment-- who would have guessed it would be that plentiful? We even got to ride a few times in November. Cap that off with some fun, end-of-season wave-riding and we know just how lucky we are to be NorCal residents. To all my friends (and future aquaintances) have a safe and fun holiday. Kiss your grandma for me once. Don't overeat or drink and drive. Do hug your kids and pray for peace.
See you soon at a windy location near you!
Out,
DL (generally grumpy but occasionally grateful!)

Giving thanks
Dave - your wisdom is inspiring, and clearly your hear + mind are much bigger then your awesome physical presence.
While my portable garage was taken by people who must need it more then I do, I could not be more grateful. Having been born in the U.S.S.R, yes, way back then/there, I am one of the most patriotic people you will ever meet. No other country has more opportunity for people who are willing to bust hump and make stuff happen. There are so many doors of opportunity that its incredible. I bow my head in thanks to all the people who have sacrificed so much to make sure that we have the life we enjoy. I love this country!!!!!
In the microcasm of the bay area, we live in heaven. No other place that I know of offers more insane outdoor sport activities. Our kiting is world class, no matter what conditions you want. All it takes is creative time management ;-) I am going to offer a class on this in the spring session of the learning annex.....nope, never mind, that will be the spring wave season, followed by summer @ the delta/bay, fall in the waves, pow in tahoe.....
I have shared countless bro sessions with many of the people who read this forum, and look forward to sharing many more.
Take some time to truly understand how lucky we are. Give thanks for all the things, small things like kiting, and big things live your family (who you ingnore 9/12 months, hey it's windy) and our freedom.
Good winds + waves, Zeev.

Guys,
Wondeful words of wisdom from all. Through this awesome sport of ours I've met so many great, fun, smart and wonderful people who have helped to make this sport even more fun and have rewarded me with friendship, good times and a lot of laughs. I am forever happy to have been born, raised and still living in the Bay Area. We have it pretty good here.
To all of you - have a great holiday and thank you again for your friendship, stoke, good times and support!
Cheers,
Ollie

I think that kiting draws people that have some soul because we launch/land each other, give advice, share stories, etc. I've only kited 1 day in the bay area but it seems like the community down here is as close knit as it is in Oregon. I hope to share some coast sessions with all of you and if anyone wants to take a trip up to O'land then I'll be happy to play tour guide and share tha love. Peace, Karl. :weedman:
Thanksgiving
In Portland now with inlaws and stopped by the site. Yes, we are truly fortunate to have our health and the UNBELIEVABLE venue of the Bay Area to live our lives. I have lived and struggled for much of my life with addictions and found myself in some pretty dismal environments. The fact that I am STILL ALIVE in and of itself is sometimes hard to believe..but the fact that I am clean and sober almost 6 years, have a wonderful wife, a baby boy due in April, and a job that allows me flexibility, is a miracle. I love my life and am truly thankful for the blessings, both big (baby boy!) and small (Honda Civic that runs). Oh, and by the way, I scored a brand new Green RRD Type ZH 13!!
Happy Thanksgiving All!
See ya' on the Water!!
