It's not so much that I want to freeze my ass off in the Pacific Ocean as that the wind forecast for the weekend doesn't look too good for the bay... Sunday was looking good for the coast until they took that "W" away and just left an "N".

I just hope the steady wind comes back tomorrow afternoon in the Bay.

Last couple of days at Berkeley were great with the SW and WSW wind. Today was particularly excellent. The forecast would seem to indicate it will be on at Berkeley tomorrow...

Can someone post the link to the coastal forecast? I have the SF Bay Forecast site, just can't find the coastal.

Thanks,

- Mark

Good news for soccer dads, farmers, and others who can't go kiting on Saturday! The forecast has been changed. Well, Sunday's anyway.

Sun
NW winds 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 4 to 6 ft. NW swell 10 to 13 ft.

Actually, they've even extended the NW to Monday, which gives one hope that the forecast may be true. Here in the Valley, they're only forecasting N winds to 10 mph, which means it is a weak north wind event, rather than the nukage that tends to extend all the way over the coast range.

Hope to see some of you guys at Stinson.

Pablito,

Couple things to look out for, if the wind is not totally NW, that is if it's even slightly NNW, then Stinson is in a wind shadow. I've made the long drive a few times only to get skunked. You see huge whitecaps about 1/2 mile out, but they don't fill in to the beach at stinson. Bodega is a better option in this case.

This costal wind forecast that you are looking may not hit the beaches. Today for example, it was blowing 15-20 miles offshore, but that wind never made it to the coast. Too many clouds over the bay area I think. If it's clear inland, then that wind will get sucked in and we'll all have huge smiles on our faces.

Hopefully the light N. wind over the Valley will keep the clouds away and the kiters can come out and play.

Bodega is okay -- a little farther, but still doable.
