Hey,
I am at Stanford until End of August, brought my Kite equip, but no car.
Want to spend evenings and weekends on the water, thus looking for possible lifts to any kitespot in town.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Giulio

Re: Searching Carpool from Palo Alto / Stanford to kitespots
already checked zipcar, but that's not really convenient as there is no dropping zone close by and public transport takes 1,5-2 hrs (depends on weekday).
Anybody passing palo alto / stanford? Sharing gas for sure...
Thanks!

Well, if you don't have a car, yes, zip car and the likes are your only option unless you find a good Samaritan working and living near you and has the same hours as you, all of a sudden it becomes harder, doesn't it?
Have you tried other rentals like "get around" or "city car share" etc?
Worst case scenario: Uber or lyft? (I can imagine it would be fine if you pack all your kites and your TT in a golf bag, they shouldn't be asking questions).
Good luck!

Re: Searching Carpool from Palo Alto / Stanford to kitespots
Thanks for the hints! Didn't know it is so hard to move around without a car in the US ;)
1. Getaround / City Car Share
Registered at getaround but no cars within 5 miles
2. Good Samaritan near by
Just to avoid misunderstanding: I am flexible in timing and pickup location and would pay for the lift.
3. Worst case scenario: Uber
Yes, seems to be the last option...
Thanks for the help again!
Cheers,
Giulio
