Folks, I am thinking of getting a couple of new kites. Focused on boosting big, freestyle, loops. Seems like the Nitro4 is a great kite but I don't know anyone who has the kite for demo.
Not sure how much to trust the reviews but the 600-700 price is very very good for a new kite.
Opinions?

Re: Switch Nitro4 opinions
Hi Leo,
they were demoed at Sherman 2 week ends ago. Very nice kites
strong/good materials, excellent construction and finish, pretty light weight.
I have been impressed by the quality for the cost, really (I currently have a North).
I have not tried the Nitro but the Elements in 9m. Feels light in bar (compared to the Rebel), and so easy to play with. You always know where the kite is, excellent steering.
The only thing I did not like was the plastic on the bar itself, I found it a bit rug under the palm of my hands, but that might be just me really.
Did not had a chance to try the Nitro,
hope it might help ?
Cheers,
Greg

Re: Switch Nitro4 opinions
Hi Greg
Thanks for your reply. Your impressions are what I've been hearing so far. I contacted Felix, he's one of the founders of the company and happened to be in Sacramento. He offered to bring both Element4 and Nitro4 to Sherman for me to demo, so I'll definitely do it. Hopefully the wind cooperates and is within my usual range so I can compare fairly to my Park 12m, otherwise it may be tricky to compare if I'm flying a 7m instead.
Seems like the Element4 is more along the lines of the trend we're seeing with a kite that pivots with little power, all-around, good for waves as well. The Nitro4 seems to have more boosting capability, power through the turn, better low and high end, definitely a more C kite type of feel. I'll demo both to see what fits better with my style.
thanks
Leo

Re: Switch Nitro4 opinions
I flew a 12 meters Nitro 4 at Alameda colored Grey/Green. You can try it out if you chance me there. imo, kite quality is top notch, fast response and good speed. High aspect ratio with excellent boost and hang time (much better than my previous Ozone catalyst & Cabrihna switchblade).
My beef; difficult to relaunch at low wind, lighter bar pressure would be nice though the bar pressure is much lower than my 12 meter Cabrihna switchblade.
My biggest beef: long bridle lines that could cause lines to wrap around the kite if kite is hindenburged causing by a wind lull after a jump (happened to me twice). My solution to that : dont jump or do trick in low wind :-) Btw, I flew the 12 meter Nitro4 with a 2012 Cabrihna IDS bar, and wondering if the mismatch caused my problem ???
Anyhow, love this kite and will keep it for a long while.
Also, the Element is more like a beginner kite while the Nitro is more advanced and it takes a few sessions to get it dialed
