I'd say stay on 80 towards Berkeley after bridge. get off at first exit emeryville/powell street. left underneath the freeway at the off ramp light. right at the next light, then you'll see 80 west entrance first thing. get on that and you are already in the far right lane to get off at TP(last oakland exit).

Are there any approaches that are guaranteed to make you miss it? Probably 880 coming from Alameda ya? Are there any others that will make you miss it?

TP is so trendy and hot right now - I gotta figure out this week if it lives up to the hype

We can add this info into the official TP Location and Guidelne write up coming soon but for now:

The only way to get there is via 80W or 580, the 880 approach will send you right onto the bridge.

Upon leaving TP, it's very easy to hit 80W (emeryville, Berkeley), 580E (Oakland, Hayward, etc. and from 580E you can also hit 24 and 980), and to answer your question, Phillie, the bridge.

When you leave TP you have only one option - turn right and continue on the West Grand exit overpass that you originally got off at.

To hit 580 East Bay Bridge or 580 West (and optionally to 24 or 980) simply make a u-turn at the first light. No need to go to 80, exit and backtrack.

To hit 80 East Berkeley, continue straight, follow the signs and turn left and the second light.

To hit 880 South, continue straight, follow signs and turn right at what I think also is the second light.

Man, that episode is so over, I watched that months ago! I'll go back to Portlandia but have pushed it aside for Trailer Park Boys. I'm almost through all the seasons.

Actually, If you get off where the toll booth workers park (left lane as you leave the bridge heading east) there is a parking lot with an exit onto the Bay Bridge west. Straight across 13 or so lanes of traffic is a very weak small fence almost knocked all the way over anyway. Right there is the beach, AND during rush hour, your path is directly after the timed lights that follow paying the toll, so you could get the pattern down just right.

As a bonus, just head right back over the little fence and save $5 on toll.

Steve-o I'm thinking our other option is to rename Toll Plaza just "Tolls", not post any directions and just let it be a secret kiteboarding spot. Thoughts?
