I just go before I get in my wetsuit. I don't think it's that complicated.zgur wrote:There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who admit to peeing in their wetsuit, and liars.
If you don't pee you are either:
1. Not hydrating enough
2. Kiting too short a session
I don't have to go for a few hours after that.
I don't understand how people end up having to go that bad that they pee in their wetsuit.
It kind of grosses me out. Do you guys get so excited about your session that you forget to go pee before you get into your wetsuit?

Ha ha! Since the subject has been raised ... In four seasons, I've never peed in my wetsuit, and I'm not a liar. I'm fanatical about hitting the surf with as empty a bladder as possible. This often means a pre-session trip into the weeds at Third or the south side of Emery Point. I am constantly amazed that I never, ever see anyone else doing this. I will never be buying a used wetsuit from any of you. :shock:zgur wrote:There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who admit to peeing in their wetsuit, and liars.

20 plus years, and never peed in mine! Peed in my kayaking suit once on a long river trip. had to stew in it for hours, swore to never do it again.

My friend pees in his wetsuit on the beach before going out. Its fucking nasty but he thinks its hilarious... funny thing is you all probably know him. Since he is a good buddy Im going to spare him the embarrassment.
I don't pee in my cold water suit (defined as any suit you wear where the landlord swims) but when Sherman hits I break the shorty out its game on... I assume you guys who never pee in their suit also do not drink beer between sessions at SI in the summer? Missing out!

those that do know how short the warmth lasts. water cycles through your suit surprisingly fast as you move around in it. so... those who don't also don't know they could be warmer and more comfortable at no cost.

You all kitesurf in the bay you know, right? And you think peeing in your suit is nasty? If anything, you're making the inside of your wetsuit a little more sanitary for a few moments before dirty nasty bay water fills it back up.
But on a serious note, to all of you out there with the "don't wash anything routine", what about your hook knife? After some incidents, (Sherman last year) I make sure to clean all the salt water from my hook knife and the pocket it sits in.

Sold all my gear; ebbs and flows; see you next season.
