My name is Josh. I started kiting in April, and have been riding mostly at Alameda. I'm usually rocking unkept shaggy hair and a 2-week shadow. Until recently I've probably been very much one of the bad examples, although I've been making a concious effort to be good. I will personally be affected by the new request to not fly kites over the beach, but hopefully that will be a kick in the ass to 1) get my 16m fixed and 2) stay fing upwind!
To put a name to a face, here is a pic.

Hi I'm Joe,
I just started kiting this season, only in Alameda so far. I probably won't be going anywhere else until I get better at going upwind.
I'm usually out on the weekends when I'm not busy helping with my wedding plans. Won't have too much time to kite since I'm getting married next month, hopefully after that I'll get more days in.
Anyone ever kited in Tahiti, that's where we're going for our Honeymoon?

Hi, I'm Ed, a sf-living korean-american dude with the big white fluffy dog named Chilly. She's a friendly girl so feel free to say hi to her if you see her chillin while I'm out on the water.
I'm in my second season now, and predominantly at 3rd ave. I love Alameda, but recall only getting out there once this year because ikitesurf wind readings haven't been too great.
I spent most of my time at Alameda in my first season, however, and think its a wonderful spot and really appreciate everyone's efforts to optimize access and safety.
I fly Cabrinha kites/Slingshot board right now but snooping around for good stuff-- Skill-wise feel like I'm turning the corner-- feeling lots better about my upwindability with every session and looking forward to doing new stuff out there and getting lots of bay water up my nose!

Hi!, generally kiters call me "Loud Mouth Greg" or LMG but I've been called all kinds of other things, a couple are even kinda nice. My passion is kiting fast and sending hard. I'm a Reginal Team Rider for NAISH so you'll generally find me kiting with that equipment however I've tryed just about anything once or twice. I started kiting in 99 or 2000 on foil kites. Since then I've logged more miles walking up Alameda beach than anyone, I'm self taught! I've also logged more hours/miles of swimming at Alameda then anyone else. OH did I mention I'm self taught! I've made my own bars and boards and flown multipal kites at once, sometimes I've even been successiful at staying up wind. But, most of the time I'm found screaming down wind and jumping tell I eat shit or run outta water! Did I fail to mention, I'm self taught. I've been known to set alot of examples, many bad ones, But I'm working on a few new tricks like being a "roll model". My guess is most kiters think I'm kinda shit for brains, thankfully I'm still trainable.
My spelling is aweful, my farts stink and once hopped up on sugar I'm crazy as hell, but my hearts in the right place, so if you can stand the noise stick out your hand you might just make a friend.
