The wind is often blasting off of the Bio-Rad property but I don't see a good launch (rocks and train tracks). Someone must have found a good (or tolerable) spot because there was a kiteboarder out there today. Seems like he launched from somewhere between Hercules and Rodeo. Anyone have any experience kiting this location?

We were out at the Thai restaurant overlooking the trail and waterfront near the new housing subdivisions not too long ago and noticed that the bay there looked pretty good and it can be plenty windy there.
Let us know what you find, we were thinking a bike ride along the trails sometime followed by a kite session would be fun, it looks pretty cool.

Re: Hercules/Rodeo
My guess is he launched from 38 Pacific Avenue, Rodeo, CA. If you google map it the road crosses the tracks and maybe there's good access on the west side of the marina? I might check it out tomorrow - if it's feasible anyone want to give it a go some windy weekday?

i think its called davis point, if you have ikitesurf click on san pablo sensor and then click on local info, explains it perfect, if someone would watch my car i would kite here, there is a boat repair shop close maybe we could leave cars there, The owners name was darrel or duane but i have not been in a while :)

a marine radio might be good, if the wind is south you could end up in vallejo but thats where the coast guard station is :)

Re: Hercules/Rodeo
I stopped by there today - awesome spot for rigging and launching (though there is a big wind shadow/line from the hill), but the parking lot was pretty sketchy. Not exactly the 3rd avenue feel and loads of broken glass. It's a bit out of my league to go solo, but maybe next season.
