It's a total joke. No wind there. Nasty water. Not worth the hike and the burrs stuck in your feet.

He is a fairly recent kiter to the kiting community and shot that video last fall when I started talking about this place. He in fact was the very first person to kite that pond last fall. There was only a couple of weeks of modest wind left in the season and I didn't want to risk missing a "sure thing" (like 3rd or the coast) so close to the end. I give the guy kudos for kiting it on his own while being kind of new to the sport. He went down to so-cal for school. This pond is not a salt pond but a storm relief pond when the creeks are flowing high during the height of storms and the high tide is too high for the creeks to flow out fast enough, thus it fills the pond up as a relief until the tide lowers saving the area from flooding. So don't diss the video, it was very kind of him to do that for everyone else.
I admire the guy's sense of exploration and his effort to share it with everybody

Why don't we rename that spot Fred's pond then. That would certainly show some credit

FREDX, G

Good job for your video efforts.

i am still laughing with you and your commentary on the video. I hope you dont take the ribbing too personal as some have...

Fred may have kited it first, however it was yours truly that researched it, found it, searched out potential launches, gave google maps to everyone and told him where to find it, etc.. Personally, naming after someone does not help others find it. At least A4 is easily identifiable to those who search on-line.

I heard FredX wheelie'd that bike over 20 miles searching for that pond while balancing his grandma who was holding all the kite gear on the front handlebars just so he could teach her to kite

...AND that he's counted to infinity - twice.

FredX only did that for 16.5 miles. It was his uncle, Chuch Norris that did the 20 miles. Get your facts straight! :)

Chuch Norris is Chuck's brother.

Chuch lost his legs in a terrible accident involving a drill, saran wrap and a jar of Nutella. Thanksfully he was born with 4 legs. He is not as fast now, but doesnt get the attention like his brother.

So let me get the story straight:
Chuck Norris lost his balls in the blender, Nutella is credited with discovering A-4- , Some dude named Fred filmed some XXX kiteporn at some "UNDISCLOSED SPOT" and everyone went home with an ear infection....

when Chuck Norris kites he wears a helmet to protect the rocks from his head.
