Re: Newbie Advice
Wow... joyride must be real excited about this sport now.... good work turning an innocent post into a pissing match between a few irrelevant people to make the rest of us look bad.
Joyride, my advice is this: if you spend half as much energy working on your skillz as these guys have spent on arguing at a 4th grade level, you're gonna be a stellar kiter. Ride easy, smile, recognize your mistakes and don't be afraid of criticism. If you like launching at the shack, go there. If you don't, launch somewhere else. Save your energy for the wind. When you get caught up in stoopid sh*t like this, it ruins the sport for you and the people around you.
And, as you have no doubt noted, there is no shortage of advice.... or douchebaggery, apparently. ](*,)

Wow - I should have checked back on my post a little earlier! Thanks for all the constructive feedback. Sorry about stirring things up for the rest. Hopefully things have calmed down a little by now. I'll be seeing you all at 3rd Ave this season.

Joyride, great to see you taking all of this in stride......some tend to be a little " territorial "..... .
If you're looking for great service and equipment (kiteboarding gear, wetsuits etc) you should touch base with Stefaans or Chris at http://www.windydevil.com. They can hook you up locally with Ocean Rodeo equipment (everything is backed by a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee - return within 30 days for full credit if you are not stoked!) and they'll be more than happy to offer you advice on where/when to ride without the " beach politics " thrown into the mix. :)
Cheers,
Evan
