if you had a good time then you didn't make the wrong call...but third was great; warm, very steady wind (fully powered on a 2011 SB), and some mud to end a great session :=))

Why would the thief care about my deductible? It has to be easier for the thief the break the window than try to break into the lockbox to get the key to unlock the car.maxsteamer wrote:Hello Sunny,

If he gets your key though, he could take the whole car...

These thieves are not after our car, they are trying to steal our wallets for the credit card.The111 wrote:If he gets your key though, he could take the whole car...

Obviously, the best thing is to not have anything of any value visible in your car at all but sometimes that can't be helped. Keeping an eye out for anyone watching you change/rig is good too. In Amsterdam it's not uncommon to see people put printed notes on the window or dash announcing "No radio, no valuables, nothing inside."

copy your car key, get a shoelace, make a key necklace, keep it in your trunk. then there's no need to wear boardshorts over your wetsuit anymore
hey jrg, i like the lockbox idea, what did you use to stick them to the car?

After forgetting to take my key and getting locked out in HMB, I set up some lock boxes. Bought the lock boxes at Home Depot.

Re: Car break in at Third Ave
The van was easy - pull off the inside door paneling and bolt though the plastic housing near the license plate. With the Honda, I had to cut some plywood to match the license plate with an extra tab for the lock box. Then screw/glue the box to the ply wood and attach using your normal license plate screws. I also added some foam to the back of the plywood.hey jrg, i like the lockbox idea, what did you use to stick them to the car?
