yeah, we've called the cops on sketchy looking folks in the past....you should pull up a pic on the webcam and post it here so we can all be on the lookout.
they were smart not to take your gear...it's much easier to just buy stuff with credit cards than to try to sell stolen sports equipment.
i keep my key in my boardshorts pocket...and i crash..a LOT...never come close to getting stabbed. i call BS on that.

yes, if we could have a pic of the car from the webcam that would be very helpful. About key in the boardshorts: I am doing this for years now and never had it stab me. And I crash a lot...

Re: Car break in at Third Ave
Awesome photo! Was it a throw/catch or a clean handoff?
Kind of off topic, but maybe somehow related: Last night when I was standing with the cop and coast guard guy watching the stuck kiter making his way in, there was an interesting local hanging around and talking to us. At first he was telling me how he cleans the kite beach, broken bottles, etc, and made some "benches" by the windsock for us to sit on. I thanked him and admitted I never noticed, since I am always in such a hurry to get on the water. Then he proceeded to go on and on about how he has 5 kiteboards and asked me repeatedly to buy a "brand new Cabrinha board" from him for $30. I declined each time, and it felt shadier each time he asked. Not sure what the deal was...
Oh, and here is me slacklining with a beer years ago. Extreme drinking... cooler than extreme ironing?

Ovi got served two beers that day. Here's a shot from the first time. Both sequences can be found here- http://66.234.210.244/photogallery/kite ... dex_8.html

Damn. Not sure whether I'm more jealous of ovi for doing it or you for getting those shots.

Thanks for the link. Awesome photos. What kind of boots is he wearing? I thought boots were all lace-up, but those look "slip-on" like some cheap cable park rental board I used once. If so, that sounds like I might like them, more secure than straps, but will still come off in really hard crash.berrisbob wrote:Ovi got served two beers that day. Here's a shot from the first time. I'm pretty sure it's not in the boots...

those are the Unions. and yeah, no laces. LF stopped making them last year though, they are honestly pretty outdated. the new unions (the U2s) weigh like 1/10th the amount. they do have laces, but you can always just not lace them very tight if you want to be able to pop out on a hard crash. 3 of us at third ride the U2s...
you could also get velcro boots (the "cradles") much easier to get in and out of than even those old unions were.

Hello Kiters,
Never put a KEY on your car or truck....It is a known fact that thieves stalk out a site before they make a hit...You only need to bring one key with you, and that would be the (vehicle key)
If your key has a chip on it you can buy a (zip-lock bag) it will still fit in your key pocket.
