Thanks to everyone who took the time to try the 2011 Rally's yesterday. It seems that yesterday was a great day, conditions were good and lots of kiters taking the kites out throughout the day. Feedback was very positive from all and at two different times throughout the day, we had the 6,8,10 and 12 all out at the same time. Pretty good range and low end - I joined the show in front for my last session on a 6m because it was the only kite left and had a blast.
Thanks everyone! =D>

Didn't make Sherman on Saturday but I definitely want to try this kite, I'm sure you'll keep us posted about other demo days...

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

Paul,
Bummer you weren't around Saturday to try it, the Rally could very well be the kite that you'd be stoked on all around. I know you've tried many others and none have been quite right, so try this one when you can. I'll post when the kites will be available again for some demo, I don't have them anymore, but may be able to get them for a weekend before the next and last official SS demo of the season in mid-to-late August...

Thanks for all the Rally demo support Ollie! :auto-rally:
For those that might have missed some demos I will be in the area mid Aug for a "Rally it up" demo tour. Sherman will hold the BBQ and after session party bash. Look for updates soon.

Re: 2011 Slingshot Rally Demo - Sherman, Sat. 7/17
Hi Ollie,
I too really enjoyed flying the Rally (especially once we got the lines connected to the right places on both sides!). Thanks for making them available. Super boosty, turned well with reasonable bar pressure. I only had a chance to fly the 10 meter, but I heard good reviews of the 8 as well. The bar is one of the best I've seen. Love the below the bar trim. The only thing I'd change is to make the grip material a bit softer.
The question comes to what sizes would be the best 3 kite quiver? Any suggestions from those of you who flew the Rallys in different sizes?
I'm currently flying 12, 9 and 7.5's (Naish Cult's), which seems to cover pretty much all the wind ranges around the Bay, Ocean and Delta. I don't believe the Rally comes in a 9M, correct?

Stoked you liked it! Considering you ride at OB, Crissy, Delta, I'd consider the 6m, 8m and 10m. I'm still divided on whether I need a 12m or not. One rider demoing the kites, along with myself, we're able to stay upwind, do some tricks and have fun during 13-14 average wind at Sherman on a flood on a 10m. I was able to ride the 6m last Saturday when everyone else was on anything from 7m-12m. During that time we had the Rally 6,8,10 and 12 out, so that's an overall indicator of the kite's range on the high-end as well as the low-end.
For our quiver, considering some travel and also kiting at fairly windy spots, we'll likely be sharing a quiver of 4m, 6m, 8m and 10m Rally's. Just not decided on a 12m yet... The 10m has killer low-end and the fast turning can generate enough power so maybe we don't need a 12m. Most intermediate to advanced kiters will fly a kite aggressively rather than riding with a send it, park it and ride style that needs bigger kites, so for some that's something to consider too.
Hope that helps,
Ollie

Max, we already figured out that was a case of mistaken identity, he even posted a pic of himself for you to ID, but you couldn't and your "recollection" of your alleged incident wasn't likely at all. So every time you hear a kite hit the water at Alameda (which is every five minutes) you recall something that never happened? :?:
But yes, the Rally is a super, major "Stoker".
