Ah common. Don't let this go in that direction. let's just see what greg comes home with. Many of us have had issues here at Alameda, some due to Boardsports some just due to the fact it is a public beach. The girls can be great people as well and always fun to hang out with. it is simply the fear of losing control that drives the monopoly to act as it has in the past. Perhaps there is a win win solution yet to be found. Either way, I am sure they are well aware that it alienates the community to bring authorities into a family matter. Hopefully someday they will give an "open beach" a try and see how many more smiles come their way as a result.

So my kite has 4 strings. 2 are grey, 1 is red, and 1 is blue. What's the difference? Thanks!

Front lines are grey, left steering red and right steering blue. Different colors are just to mark them...

The problem I have with boardsports is that some of the teachers will yell at you about kite in hand when you hit the sand, but they practice very dangerous thing like teaching people on strait onshore winds. It's hard enough to kite strait on shore winds, but when you have to dodge three kites in the water trying to learn it cause frustration. You don't own the beach. The other thing is a lot of these schools don't do teach any kiting etiquette like the right of way. Right of way is what keeps us out of trouble not just with each other but with other water-faring vessels (i.e. boats, windsurfers, ect.). One thing I see with a lot of new kiters do is pass right downwind of you and not lower their kites. It makes me say,"Damn, what planet did you come from." Then when you approach these people they look at you like you're stupid. That's when the surfer comes out in me and wants to punch them in their fraking face. Anyway, I think a solution would be to give out free clinics on right of way and hand out a small flyers with right of way rules. Maybe we could get companies like boardsports, helm, wind over water, 415 kite, and my norcal kites to sponser them. See I just don't complain I come up with solutions lol.

The problem when you learn is that there is just too much info to absorb at one time. even if they tell them all the info they need, most are semi-paralyzed by the large object attached to them. I know it is frusterating to have to divert your tack when you have right of way and the noob will not fly their kite low. But, I look at it as an obstacle course to weave through. It can be fun.

Jeff rous had once proposed having varying launches for different skill levels. it was one of those ideas that might work if everyone obeyed it but that would never happen. Similar to 3rd where only the confident launch from the lower launch. Only occasionally do you have to avoid the floating yellow cabrinha.

I can say that ever since i moved to the beach, I have not had any problems with launching or Boardsports. I do see a lot of stuff that angers me on crowded days but i just try to ignore most of it. If it is a real danger I will say something. but most are just as excited to go try their new toy as we are, and i guess we have to respect that on some level.

Lets stop- I'm the bumb F@#$ that pulled out the ugly stick first, and I'm sorry for that! When I read the words, call the attorney, I kinda went ballistic.

Now lets face it, Everyone has made mistakes-

Yes, there are a few minor problems to work out but it's not like anyones trying to do something BAD here or do anyone WRONG.. I sure as hell don't want to see the business hurt, I dont want the parks to loose anything and MOST OF ALL I dont want to see my friends hurt. Jane and Rebecca are MY FRIENDS TOO! (sorry if they dont feel that way right now)
The reality is they didn't write the rules they only agreed to the contract. And this was written a long time ago when things were totally different, Kiting didn't even exist-

-The contract needs to be revised before it is reissued-
-The parks need to provide permits for other venders or special events-
-ALL kiters need to learn to WORK TOGETHER, and be aware of our surroundings-

Warm Winds-
