If I had to express how I feel about those #$%^&*&^%$*&*X my post will just get deleted so I'm just staying out of this. These ^&#%^^*(%^&*( go to everybody elses beaches and do whatever the hell they want, and to be honest F it up 90% of the time cause they are &$*^%$#@$. I have tons of people asking me for recommendations and how to start this sport and my answer will be the same every time. Whatever you do stay away from Boardsports!

no not true, kiting every day. i don't even know why i am even angry anymore. i had to teach my girlfriend at crissy because of those stupid %$&*^& but hell it turned out better anyway.
We have a killer community here its just such a disappointment having 1 establishment working against it. I never have to deal with them anymore so good luck to the people who do.

Nah! This is what you call Alameda Love!

Anybody wanna demo my 2002 spitfire? Its yellow, if you fly it in a weird way, Yuri will think its a beginner flying his favorite yellow brand. It will be windy in Alameda this afternoon, maybe.

LMAO cya there Rey!
BTW Max you implied that they are not making allot of $ and that they are "skinny"?
Benzos aren't cheap! Multiple locations, many brands, many old and many new students each season, and many instructors, standard industry markups (!), monopoly on a the premiere beach lesson location believe you me they get paid well even with the EBPA vig!
There is an old quote that says "you don't get rich giving your money (or turf) away"
We can't hate em for being successful, I just think there is enough beach and kiters to go around thats all!
In an ideal world we should all share and share alike!
Or, be like me and just kite there for fun and do the business elsewhere!

Steffans-

Im pretty sure Boardsports' MO is not to work against the kiting community. We cry for self regulation in this industry, but then people get upset when they realize that the regulation extends to us as well. You have to admit that the monopoly, whether you like it or not, helps maintain a standard of education for new kiters, which we are all in favor of. Im not a big fan of exclusive rights, but they are a BUSINESS... expect them to act like one.

And with that, Im OUT> This has gone beyond rediculous.

Yeah, self serving regulations.

I'm still waiting for an apology for the oblivious long haired blond teacher dude at Board Sports who had his student bomb crash his Naish kite a few inches from my head near the fence back in the summer of '08. I guess I should not hold my breath.

Thanks for posting your perspective, I agree with most of what you say.
I've been trying to see this issue from several directions to try to figure out a better plan to handle future growth @ Crown Beach.
After I meet with the attorneys and think this through further I will post the results and potentially call a meeting to discuss what I learned and pitch my plan to deal with it as a community.
There does NOT have to be any grief at Alameda- all that is required is an inclusive sprite of cooperation within the community. Perhaps a few minor changes to the permit process combined with an extra launch or two will make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Hello GregB,

I agree 100%.. I also think the girls are on the same page...As I posted before, they Jane, and Rebecca, do not make the laws that govern our sport..these laws were approved mostly for windsurfing and a few other sports, not so dangerous as is kiteboarding.

The reality is!! that the law in question needs to be "Renegociated for kiteboarding" Jane and Rebecca have not put up a fuss with that fact.. my fellow kiters?? once again the girls are told to keep away from any disputes with patrons or kiteboarders.. on the rules as this is not there MO they are told to call the Park police if there is a dispute.. They know Pam and I know the rules and know why there in place.. thanks to ReyR. for his skills with safety and swift response with kitemares and a keane negociator with people the girls like what they see at the "Shellgate launch".and they also know we advice all new kiters to get lessons before they launch here.

Hey!! Trust me on this.. take the time to look real close at these girls?? I'm talkin' there hands and feet and yes!!, there eyes.. and tell me what you SEE?.. get back to me in your post what you see??.. I sometimes jog by the shack early in the morning when its cold and the sand is still cold and there is the girls talking to a big fat man trying to get in a wetsuit. as I pass by again on the back? I see Jane or Rabecca draging boards with mud and sand out to the grass. I know they chose this work but I also have done this and I did it because I loved the stoke that I gave to each and every student. Yes they make alot of money a few months out of the year but all the other mo's there eating out of a can.

Lets wait till GregB,.. talks with the powers that be..Trust me he will hold a meeting after he finds out what I already know.. That we the people will have to spend alot of money to change the law or do the crime and do the time. Sign here and Zip It " :o [-X  OH NO!!!!!
