Kitesurfing in the bay tuesday 30th

Post by Hadrienlr » Mon Mar 29, 2010 10:37 pm

Hi everyone,

I've just landed in SF to visit a friend and I just wanted to know if some people are gonna kitesurf tomorrow in the bay?

i don't know the spots but i hesitate to go to ocean beach or crissy fields... or both.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hadrien.

South winds are usually best at Alameda. And it will be cold! it is supposed to be kiteable tomorrow, but i dont think anywhere will be super windy and stable.

This issue with this front is stability. Gusts then nothing, gusts then nothing. Fine if you love kiting, then swimming...

I had a great day in Alameda today.. Knee deep water and onshore wind.. Sure it was lite, but still really fun.. I would try Alameda tomorrow if I were you.. I heard it was supposed to start a bit earlier tomorrow, but be a little stronger.... (late morning/early afternoon)

one thing to keep in mind is that the city is doing their spring cleaning and the beach is technically closed off. but I think when they are done it shouldnt be a big deal. but there is yellow tape the whole way up to the shack. They normally stop right before high tide.

Perhaps launching from the shack is doable since you can rig and get out quickly when the caterpillars are down the beach.

Ollie, come out and work on your mid air Rerun!

theres one guy out already.
