I would also add some Mystic foot beds. They have a gel that absorbs shock. Liquid force also sells something similar. I added the Mystic ones last year that helped a lot with my aging knees.
I also agree that rocker and flex will help with the knees and make the board pop.

Hello Pipe,
I would add a North Jaime L to the mix. I'm your size, and use the board for everything but coast riding. It's really good for freestyle, is soft (good for your knees), has great pop and rocks upwind. Anytime you see me @ the beach in Sherman, just grab it and ride.
Get sum, Z.

Re: What board should i get?
From making boards for a few years now i can tell you that a little rocker does go a long way. I have experimented with same profiles but different rockers and it does make landings MUCH softer. But there is a huge sacrifice for riding in lighter winds. So the answer is generally 2 or more boards.
In a perfect world the board would flex just for your own weight. Someday "they" might come up with a material that allows this. But for now it will be a compromise between upwind/lightwind efficiency or freestyle/soft forgiveness.
Either way you go, support your LOCAL shop!

Oh, quit messing around and just get a UG FLX. You know you want one. :) Unless you want the Styx.
I'm pretty sure Underground will be at the expo--they were last year.

My Vote: Blunt from Wainman Hawaii.
Possibly the Lightest Board out.
Stiffer, yet with LOTS of rocker.
Super carvy.
Razor thin rail - goes up wind like a rocket.
Comfy in the chop.
Yes, I sell Wainman, but I am not going to where a pair of shoes if they don't feel right.
I have also been riding a Jimmy Lewis, model 3. Comfortable, carvy, great in chop...I am still getting used to it's upwind characteristics vs the blunt....

Re: What board should i get?
I ride a LF Recoil 136. My knees are kinda bad to begin with, but if I really push myself my knees are shot after a 2 hour session. Just curious if anyone has experience with the Recoils and how much of a better experience I would have upgrading to one of the boards mentioned in this thread...
