Actually I think it's a pretty easy decision. Forget the Vegas.

The real question is how you got to those two kites, which are different animals and not comparable, when there are tons of great beginner kites today (new and used).

If this is what just popped up on craigslist, wait a week or two and more stuff will pop up.

Still impressed about how lively and helpful you folks are out there! I'm not getting the North Vegas at this juncture, though it seems like it's a great kite for some riders. But I am looking for another possible "fit" on the used market. Would love to have something for my next lesson. Thanks again for all of the input! ~erika

why? because your instructor doesn't provide gear?

dude. if you're taking a lesson, use the schools gear!!! why would you beat up on your own stuff???? the longer you wait, the cheaper it will be and the more educated you will be about what gear to buy. wait until the last possible moment before buying something.

also, the used market is much bigger than you realize. everybody and their mom has a used kite they will sell you. make friends at the beach. better off buying gear from a friend who has a vested interest in not selling you crap than buying off CL or ikitesurf from someone who doesn't know you.

Since you've all driven another "chick" away (Erika's words, not mine!), please feel free to pm me with similar offers for used gear I can beat the tar out of. I only weigh in at slightly more than Erika (125-130lbs depending on whether I've eaten a bucket of KFC that day or not). Most of my time will be spent at 3rd since I live in Palo Alto.

I dunno. One thing I miss about the old site is that for sale foo showed up in the active posts list. It's not like there was so much stuff that it was an annoyance. Now I have to remember to go look at ads every few days.
