Pismo Beach KiteXpo Updates: Biggest Expo Ever!

Haven't got the official local report yet this morning, but buoyweather is calling for NW high teens today, and NW mid 20's tomorrow. If you are not already in Pismo, get down here. We all have lots of great toy for you to play with, and a lot of great prizes to win. :rock:

Today is calling for 15-20, tomorrow higher. Yesterday was an awesome beach day hanging out in the sun at Pismo... :P

3rd was great today!

I had to rub it in because last year it was the reverse for me.

I was genuinely bummed I missed the kite expo. Just could not come up with the extra cash for overnight accommodations there, still affected by the damn recession.

Consolation price: Decided to go to Doran today, Showed up at 3 pm, rigged up a 9 mayhem, was comfortable for about 30 minutes, according to my personal meter, 20 to 25 knots, then winds picked up to 30 knots. Landed when I felt it was unsafe.

Rigged down to the 7 meter mayhem, bam! nothing but butter. Average 35 knots, lulls at 20 knots, gust at 40 knots. This kite eats the gust like nothing. I felt like I could do no wrong. First time I was comfortable on a 7 meter riding at 35 knots. I had to stop riding because I ran out of water when the low tide dropped.

I had so much fun hanging out with the 3rd AVE crew, Caution crew, F-one Crew, couple guys from LA area and couple guys from North bay. We had fun even without the wind on Friday and Saturday. Of course, it was even better when we finally got wind today.

It was a good time and great beach getaway from the Bay for a few days! Friday and Sat. had great weather, but no wind really, but hey, it's Pismo Expo, we're used to that! Was just fun to spend some time hanging out and getting a tan in a fun place with good friends and to see some folks we haven't seen in a while. Good times!

It really looks like Oceano is the place to kite when the expo area is dead. We had an awesome highly powered 9m session today.
