Is there a difinative guide to launch sites and local do's and don't for the visitor, need to do some homework before arriving so don't want to
1. waste any water time and 2. keep in with the guys who live here and kite here 365, local respect is a big issue in the UK and I guess in the Bay Area as well.

Also any info on where to call a base location would be handy.

Hi Guys,

A quick question, is there an recommended 3rd party insurance that people have. In the unlikely event I crash my kite into someone I don't fancy facing the USA's famous litigation system without it!

The the UK we get this insurance as part of joining the UK kite association. Is there a similar body in the USA/SF?

Arrived in Berkeley

Post by ozmalik » Fri Aug 08, 2008 3:34 pm

Hi all,

I've now arrived in the Bay and am settling into Berkeley, thanks to those who I've already spoken to about the spots, I really appreciate the advice. I think I'll head out to Sherman this weekend.

I was wondering if I could ask if anyone is planning on heading down to Waddell anytime to maybe consider giving me a lift. I'm really into waves, so I'd be happy to contribute gas, food, etc in exchange for a ride there. I'm also happy to get the BART into SF if it makes it easier to pick me up.

I've just ordered a new John Admundonson custom to replace my aging Converse, so quite excited about getting that out on the water, I guess I'll just ride the TT until that arrives....hopefully I won't get to much sh#t from the locals for it!
