Chip rode the hydrofoil in the 2nd race on Saturday and appeared to do quite well going upwind but then down wind the hydrofoil seemed to be quite a it slower than the guys on regular directionals.

Is the man himself lurking around here to answer directly?

Chip is sponsored by Carafino who makes foilboards and just started producing carbon twin tips as well.

The foilboard has proven itself to be an upwind machine, especially in light wind conditions but if the course has a large downwind portion, can lose ground against the directionals. Chip was probably experimenting with boards and fin shape/placement like many others....

Erin,

Outstanding photos, your best yet...

Always great to get in the boat... Some shots of happy kiters.

Tell us what lens you used?

Hi Proparoo, thanks. Those were with a mix of a Canon 1Ds MkIII, a 1D MkIII, a 24-105 f/4 IS L, and a 100-400 f/4-5.6 IS L.
