Alright, well, I know where to demo a liquid force assult, but do you think live2kite would let me demo a waroo?
It's very simple to demo a Waroo: BEST is the only brand that have 30-day return policy. Once you try a Waroo, you will want to keep it. Live2kite has an advantage that they are local and you don't pay for shipping in a very rare case you indeed want to return it.

Personally I believe that a demo is a waste of your time. You simply don't have enough skill yet to be able to tell which kite you'll like better. And BTW, which kite you like better will probably change drastically over time. My first kites were C-kites and I learned the basics just fine with them. Then I killed my 12m during the winter and frantically sought a replacement. I was flying Rhino '06s then and North didn't have any left when I wanted to buy another. So I went with the '07 which is a hybrid. At first I hated it because it felt so different, but then I loved it all last season. Only now that I am doing much more unhooked tricks am I hating it again and moving back to C-kites.

Bottom line, I would suggest buying a nice (lightly) used bow kite from last season and get the basics down with that. Who cares what brand at this point because most modern kites are good. After you progress enough, then worry about demoing and dialing yourself in. Besides, you're probably going to thrash the hell out of your first kites so why have something new and expensive to break.

Very true!

True again, but there are some lame models that I would avoid for falling apart too early, bad safety systems and just poor performance. I think 2007 is pretty safe bet for most kites (that I know of), 2006 is a hit or miss.

A beginner does not always know how to check a used kite and it may be beat up, and no support from a retailer, so you may also want to look at a new 2007 kite from last year on sale. There are some good deals around.

alright, what would be some good websites to find used 2007 kites? Does anyone have a 9 meter 2007 kite?

yep, Ikite is the right site for used stuff. But make sure that you dont grab the wrong kite. So stay on waroo and I you cant be wrong as so many had them last year. Mat be you can add the LINK, the Assault, Rebel, Crossbow, switchblade just to broaden the search.

Downhiller, if you're looking online at the same brand-new closeout '07 bows that I am, they may be hard to beat compared to used prices. $600-700 for a brand new bow complete with lines is just... wow. Make sure it's having the appropriate effect on the used market.
