actually I havnt seen any in the bay for quite some time but they show up here and there. There are more of them on the coast / Waddel Creek.

Self Launch is not very advice able as most launches are shitty and relatively tightly spaced. Please let the others help you, BUT you need to tell them how to handle an ARC launch/landing as not everyone knows it. I had foils for years and boy they were giving me shit at the beginning ....

No one should make fun of Foils...that is not nice...although I believe that flourecent chaps and an umbrela had would complement the Ensemble quite nicely...Oh crap did I write this out loud??? I am a bad, bad, man...

Just kidding...kinda...

Mike,

There are a couple of us around . . . I ride at Waddell and Scott Creek a few times a week on Venoms and my new Synergy (which I'm loving!). If you're into surf there are very few spots in the world that match our spring conditions: booming winds often for weeks without a break, most days overhead or better surf, and on top of that wide-open beaches with hundreds of yards of downwind space at the launch. I see Pete Lynn Jr. & his crew kicking-it in their Magic Bus many weekends.

On the Bay I'd stick to 3rd for the consistent winds and Arc-friendly upper launch area (mudflat with lots of sandbags around). Chrissy is a sketchy place to launch Arcs but doable if you're brave, Alameda doesn't get enough wind, Berkeley can have little or no beach, and Sherman I haven't tried but I knew one guy who used to fly S-Arcs there. PM me when you're coming down.

Cheers,

Gideon

PS - Bric--Ever get out on that Phantom anymore?
