I've never really understood those maps. Are the #'s millibars? And does anyone know how the hell they read that, especially for a storm. How do you stick a balloon up in the center of something and keep it there? Very interesting stuff.

Jeff, maybe you could do a quick tutorial on how to read that stuff, i am sure there are a few of us that would love to know more.

I actually did get a weather for dummies book but it is too simple. I just think it would be cool to take a glance at that chart and really understand what is going to happen from it!

I guess I will remain a forecastee and not a forecaster.

I recommend "Weather Predicting Simplified" Author - Michael William Carr

It is orientated for marine weather too.
