From Kirk Talon, OnScene Safety http://www.onscenesafety.com/
Free CPR and First Aid Class
We did one of these last year and it was a great success. He is offering another one free of charge.
Dear Tribe.
Bayareakiteboarding in partnership with On Scene Safety is sponsoring the
2nd annual Free First Aid and CPR kiteboarder class. Kite season is around
the corner and we want to make sure that along with the fun and stoke we are
ready to deal with the occasional "kitemare".
We will provide all the materials, mannequins, books, certification and lab
equipment, all you have to do is show up. Last year we had a good turnout
and great information as well as good laughs were shared by all. We would
need 10 people to make it worth it and can teach as many as 30. We will
post potential dates and locations based on interest and would like to make
sure that our bay area and delta kiters know that they are welcome.
The instructor will be me, Kirk Talon (Marujo) a professional firefighter
for 25 years and owner of On Scene Safety. We should all be looking out for
each other and part of that stewardship involves a little preparation...and
hey, the price is right.

Count Me In!
I've been recertifying for decades and without doubt Kirk's class last year topped the charts. Being able to talk about helping a kiter who is unconcious in the water (or in the trees) with someone who KNOWS what is at stake and the best practices is invaluable.
If you have ever seen an accident while kiting and have wondered what should I do - here is where you can find out. This should be 101 for anyone who kites.

Once again Jeff from Kite WInd Surf has been gracious to offer us the space...thanks a million. Also thanks for the offer for the bigger space senor windhorny...All we need now is see how much more interest we get and lets put out a few tentative dates out there and see what fits best.
I know it is hard to take the time but the more of us that know what to do the safer we all are. Heck, a lot of you guys know my son Brenan who is always out there with me, now my little guy Preston and daughter Rebecca are stoked to get started this season...
I look out for you, you lookout for me...big circle, but actually knowing what to do is huge...and let's be practical, the economy is in the dumpster so getting a $65.00 class for free, with certificates (that are valid for anything that requires this type of training) materials , books, etc...just makes good fiscal sense... :)
Cheers
Kirk
