Kevin, if it makes you feel any better, I later saw her down in the water and came within 5 feet spraying the shit out of her. Needless to say that didn't do anything to help our relations.

It didn't stop there because every time I went by she was yelling like crazy. She came at me again (trying to hit me again) but I saw her in enough time and boosted over her (with a bonus of giving her the finger as I passed over top). :butthead:

I was sooo pissed that she attempted to hit me that I did stupid things like that. If I hadn't been able to react as fast, I could be in a world of hurt. It's all fun until someone gets hurt.

Seriously though, what gives with this kind of behavior with the windsurfers? I've yet to hear about kiters purposely attempting to terrorize windsurfers (lately). Why can't it be sail and let kite? Someone will eventually get hurt if this kind of crap continues. Any thoughts on how to address it?

yea in the sailing world the right of way rules are there to prevent any accidents but the one rule that super seeds them all is when in doubt get out of the way to prevent an accident.

I thought the overpowering rule was that the larger vessel always wins. So if Big Dave is on a surf board and i weigh 170 and am on a 140, I lose!

The poleboarders at Waddell who are mowing the lawn have the same attitude. It doesn't matter how long you've been on a wave, if they are crossing your tack in their pathetic attempts to stay upwind, they will tell you to F... off even though right of way rules at Waddell are clear that the rider on the wave has right of way over anyone.

One guy yesterday would have ridden right through my lines if I hadn't raised my kite and dropped off the back of the wave. And he was cursing me.

Oh no Dave, don't get me wrong. I'm OK with it! I just learned this year that I have to stay away from inconsiderate pricks at the launch and territorial windsurfers. You know, add it to your list of things to look out for 8). Your not going to change anything or anybody, that's like trying to herd cats...

Seriously Rich, as someone who rides on both sides of the fence, can you shed some light on the whole poleboarding "attempt to spear kiteboarders" thing? I know it's likely a select few that do it, but why?
