Good luck in your quest to find the best kites.

You've been sampling too much Santa Cruz Mtns greenery if you think Caution kites are made locally...Try Sri Lanka, China or wherever there is a [s]sweatshop[/s] cheap reliable labor pool

Jeb Mud,

Sorry if I did not make my self clear... I know where the production kites are made. The Designers, Owners and repair center are in Santa Cruz. If anything needs fixing, Pete is on the spot to help fix any problem fast and cheap. Not to mention the quality of work is top notch!!!

Hey DS,

Where do the locals buy Caution Kites?

I will be moving toward the local Santa Cruz area next year and am in need of an upgrade from my current C-Kite collection (i've been waiting until they get a little cheaper). Since I will be moving down there, I have a strange feeling that I will be ending up with Caution Kites and a surfboard.

Have you had the chance to try other kites? I've also heard rumors that the '06 Answer turns a little faster than the '07?

Ollie, I'm hoping it's windy enough Sat. afternoon to try that 7M Link; Sunday I'm going to Waddell and maybe it'll be windy enough to try the 7M Answer 2.

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

Scotty,

We buy the kites from Peter and Poul, the owners. You can also get them on thier website, www.cautionkites.com . All you have to do, is tell someone at Waddell you want a Caution and you will be directed to the correct person. They always find a kite for someone used or new.

I have flown the North Vegas and Rhino. Very good kites!!! Stable, easy to fly and great bar!! Also some Cabrina "C" kites.

I have heard that the 07's are a bit slower, but this adds stability and the difference from what I have heard is very little in speed.

To be honest, all the kites talked about here are great. I am new to the sport and picked it up pretty fast. I learned on Caution kites (answer 7,9,12), took leasons on North Kites and have had no problems with my Caution kites.

The new Trespass board is great too!!

Good luck!
Dave

Thanks Dave,

I ran into Paul and Peter last nite @ the Third Ave races. Told me to give them a call when I go to Waddell so I can try out their kites. Thanks for the info.
