a biased opinion
I'm a North Regional Team rider......I've tested the durability of much equimpment, kites/bars/lines/boards/harnesses/bones/teeth.......
I've dropped my new Vegas 2007 in major size surf, definately overhead, and the kite came out w/out any trouble: including no broken cam battens. Quite impressive. The 2006 kites put up w/a lot of use from me, and came out really well, with the exception of busted cam battens.
Your #1 enemy is the sun: a kite which sits in the sun is more brittle and will tear much easier.
As they used to say in car commercials, "your milage may vary depending on driving habbits".
Good winds, Z.
