Birthday this sunday

Post by windhorny » Fri Aug 04, 2006 10:52 pm

Ever since I have started kiting, the people in the community have become like a second family. Even the few kiters that can be a pain in the ass-including myself, are still part of this great group of people we have. Anyways, I am not trying to get sappy here, just letting you all know that the whole community means alot to me.

I am going to have a small BBQ at Alameda this Sunday, nothing crazy but i will make sure there is enough food to please anyone who wants some. Tianna and i will cook up some of our world famous Goose Kabobs. I would say 2ish. Hope to see you there and hope there is wind for all of us everywhere.

Yuri

Goose Kabob  - it's time someone takes advantage of those geese - we'll be there!

Happy Birthday Yuri. I always enjoy watching you ride.

I remember the first time i talked to you, you were filming me with your video camera (about a month ago) and I was like "wow, why the hell is Yuri filming me, honored..." and then you smiled and told me that "I now have proof that you are walking back up the beach with your kite in the air and that's against the rules..." I was a bit crushed, but it gave me insentive to learn how to go upwind. After 4 sessions that day I was able to finally make it back to the beach that very same day and every day thereafter. So your lesson did prove to be a good one for me and pushed me to be a better rider. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you for your Birthday!

I hope I wasnt rude about it, I just thought it was good footage for the video. If it makes up for it, I will get film you actually riding :)

congrats on staying upwind-I know that is a great sensation the first time you dont have to walk the kite back.

Thanks again Yuri for the awesome Birthday/hang out fest. You had tons of great food, cupcakes. That was so cool of you! Yeah, I agree that you are getting big for 12! :)

Oh, and by the way I did NOT take it personally that you filmed me. It really helped to push me. Thanks again.

I agree that the kiting community is like a second family. I've met some of the most amazing people over the last several months. I'm so happy to be a part of this crazy stuff!
