Big props to Civie and the SS crew. I showed up at the beach (kids in tow) and intended to paddle up to the island with kids and dog and all our stuff for waterplay. No way. WAAAY to windy to even get there safely.
So, Dave offers me the new SS Link 12 already pumped up, ready to rig with the 5th line set-up. I say "sure, love to" and moments later I'm on the water LIT and swell-riding with abandon. Seriously fun kite for slash, burn and turn. Throwing buckets for an hour while the kids play nearby. Probably couldn't have ridden many other 12s in this world but that kite was totally manageable due to a GREAT bar set-up with a cleatable 5th line. All kites should offer that feature.
No sooner did I bring the kite back to resume parenting than they were firing off huge bacon, cheese, onion burgers on ciabatta. Wow. My daughter Melinda couldn't even finish hers it was so damn big. Thanks, you guys-- without the demo I probably wouldn't have sessioned at all and believe me, it was one of the windiest afternoons in some time (not to be missed!)
ZGUR turned 39 (again), Alex offered ample slip-n-slide activities and there was live music at the sign with the old WS crew-- lot's of great reunions. Killer family weekend for sure and my kids are still stoked about staying out late and partying Delta Style!
Go bigga'

Dave does throw a great party dosent he!
I was there starting my thang (worried about this and that) and Daves like, "CHILL Greg! We're gonna have fun and I dont want any stress". Well no sure enough we did have fun, one kool thing happened after another. Wind was cranking, tons of kites got pumped and many-many got demoed, a few got thrashed but Daves like, no worries- no one got hurt, PARTY ON!!
NBG's burgers were off the hook (and right on time!) for lunch. Dinner was killer too! Flames were flying and everyone was styl'n.
Good times!
Thanks guys (and you lovely gals too) for a GREAT DAY!,

Today was me and Tianna's first day at Sherman. Freakin' Disneyland for kiters! What a great vibe, weather, sunset, people, and the water! My god-you can drink that stuff. I didnt feel the need to wash afterwards. i see why you all love it so much. With the exception of a few kids that were flying their 3meter trainer kite and jumping over peoples kites as if they were in their way, and the guy with the jet ski that kept finding it entertaining to spray everyone in the launch area topped off by leaving 10 beer bottles left over-everyone was great.
Next time I head up there, if I can maybe get someone to let me use their BBQ, Tianna and I are going to do our shish-kababs for anyone who wants some.
:)
P.s. if you were kiting today, you will most likely have a spot on Kiters Gone Wild when it comes out.

BIG THANKS to Dave & Greg and all who helped this happened!
Sat. was an epic! I had a blast on the LINK 7! That kite has way lighter bar pressure than TD, and turns faster too! I definitely liked the LINK a lot!!! Winds got stronger so I had to go out with 5m Diesel but it definitely was a great weekend for a demo event. Greg cooked yummy hambergers for lunch. It was so good! I couldn't stay for the party but am sure they always throw a great party!
I was able to ride LINK 7, 9, 12 and am interested in trying 10.5 so hopefully I can get back to Sherman soon!
Thanks!! =D>
