Going to Tahoe for a bachelor party this weekend... any place to kite on or around Lake Tahoe? What are the conditions?

Focus on the party grasshoper....... Most locals who are into kiting, come to Sherman to get good kiting. In spring/fall, you can get some good frontal wind....nothing of this nature on the horizon for this weekend.
Get some, Z.

You can try washoe lake. Do a google search or it's on ikitesurf.com with info. It's about 40 minutes from South Lake maybe an hour from North Lake. I see people kiting sometimes in south lake Tahoe at the State Beach park I think it is. It's right on 50 before the casinos. Good luck! Your best bet is late in the day. Watch out for those crazy A$$ wave runners too. They love to get ay too close. =D>

My two cents on Washoe... It's like kiting in your toilet when you didn't flush it for a couple of days! The water has that dark slimy feeling. But what really makes it yucky, is the wake that comes from the side of your board. I'll let you imagine it... Remember Alameda when they shut the beach down a few weeks ago? That is nothing compared to Washoe....
Otherwise, the brave ones that kite there are nice and helpful.
I agree with a previous post - enjoy the party, and on the way back, stop at Sherman!
