this one developed in April....Too much rain - not enough northwesterly blowing down the coast. Result is not as much upwelling, so the water is a bit warmer off the coast - hence less fog.
Rio is not as consistent as the last couple years, and the coast is blowing later in the year than normal. That said, I spent a week at Rio over the 4th, and was on small kites all week. Last week I was on a 10 at Stinson...Now it looks like we have to fight the flood at crissy for a sesh..Get it where you can!

Bob, thanks for confirming my feeling. I remember when Godsey made that prediction about the fog in the spring and Kevin posted about it.
Dewey -- I know how you feel. I will go insane very soon if I don't get a good session in! A friend told me the round trip to the East Bay yesterday afternoon took her 4 hours drive time from Davis.

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

This year
Paul - it's just you.....last year was super windy @ z delta. Bob nailed it w/coast winds/upwelling......if you recall, march/april/may was mostly rain vs. normal NW winds on the coast. The upwelling was not as intense as normal - it came, just a lot later......on top of that, we have all these stupid domes of high pressure messing up what would be nice fog formations.....
It's the weather bro, it keeps on changing. Get it while and where you can....
You have tomorow pm open? the delta will do it's thing....maybe even today.
Get some, Z.

Don't forget that the current situation leaves crissy open for some very nice days....We even saw some strangers at the beach yesterday - like Nat - escaping the Rio heat...You have to squeak off of the beach, but it was 25+ in the middle of the bay, sunny, and a pretty good time. I would expect that to continue for the duration of the heat. I usually write off crissy for mid summer due to fog, but it has been crankin...Not to mention, for those who have not been there, the pleasures of sitting on the bench watching the parade on a hot day.....Although yesterday was a bit unusual, as there was some event that cause over 100 men and women to run by in lacy red dresses.....all in the name of free beer....I did not get the details....
