Hey SF Kiting Community!

I'm Jessie Hassell, and I co-own Kite Adventures.
We are going to be moving out west to the Bay Area permanently and I just wanted to give you an overview of what we do and the trips you can look forward to...

Image
WHERE:
Kite Adventures specializes in guided tours all over the world. Now in our second season, our destinations are becoming quite the hot spots for kite travel. We pride ourselves on the local knowledge and kiting experience our guides have. We are beginning our second season in Brazil at the end of this month, starting December with Thailand, Vietnam and have partnered with Wind Over Water for snowkiting in Utah. We are beginning Greece and Sardinia spring of 2007.

Image

WHAT:
We have personally traveled to each location and tested the waters, so we know the best spots for various wind directions and conditions. Our tours are all-inclusive: you can leave your worries behind and maximize your time on the water. We're hooked in with the local scenes, as well as some of the top rated hotels in the areas we visit.

Image

Sure it's easy to rent a 4x4 or hire a truck company and be "toured" around the areas, but will they help you with a broken kite line, when you're having trouble with the language, when you're your being charged "Gringo" prices? We are there to be part of your experience, to show you areas you never could find on your own. We want you to come down and feel like a part of the Kite Adventures family, and spend each new day exploring different and exciting kite locations around the world.

Image

As kiteboarders, we all know what it's like to chase the wind. While you're with us, we want you to do as little chasing and as much riding as possible. We also have specific beginner tours and activities, so those of you who want to bring a non-kiting friend or companion, can feel at ease while you are out riding.

Image

Brazil is our premiere destination, we cover over 300 km of unspoiled coastline on the beach by 4x4s. This really is the land of downwinders, ocean coves, lagoons and wave riding. We cover over 10 beaches throughout the region. We also host specialty pro tours with Best Kiteboarding, Dimitri Maramenides and a Girls-Only Tour with Laurel Eastman.

Image

We have also teamed up with Jeff Kafka from WOW Kiteboarding who will be instructing new riders in Brazil, I will update those dates as soon as we've got them nailed down.

"Mainly a guys sport" Balderdash!! There is a plethora of very talented women kiters here in the Bay Area. Most days at SI there are a lot more men sitting on the beach watching the women rip it up. Are you ready?

WELL from personal experience being literally 2 or 3 girls out of 20 guys in Brazil... you gotta take experience from what you know... There's no missing me- I'm the girl with the pink board and new pink kite ;)

I'm sure there are some kick ass girls out there, I'm really psyched to meet them! Moving west in September... See you all at the beach!

One of our kick-ass girl kiters just got a pink harness cuz she said everyone always thought she was a guy -- because of how high she's boosting, not how she looks...

of course we also have a guy who wears a pink tutu when he kites sometimes.

The pink harness I just traded in for my new waist harness and my board and kite.

I did just get some stuff from Chip (UN) and I am proud to say I own 3 kite skirts... Hey, I'll tell ya... I'm in it for the fun and the LOOK ;)
