what happened at 3rd ave yesterday?

I was out in the water yesterday sat june 17th and i noticed rescue boats out in the water and fire and police vehicles driving on the bike path with their lights on.

Does anyone know what was happening?

I heard a boat was in distress - no kiter or windsurfer involved.

I think Foster City PD may be helping out the CG these days.

Whats strange is that friday night at the horse races , we all saw something smoking and crashing straight down towards that area. We never figured out what it was but it looked like a parachutist without a parachute and on fire or something like that.

So I know that they were looking for the pilot, but what about the person who was attached to that orange best kite that has been laying around the rigging area trashed and ripped to hell? are they all right? Have they abandoned their kite? Just curious?
