The Big Question

Post by Pablito » Wed May 17, 2006 6:33 am

Okay,
So the scenario this week is for great kiting today and tomorrow, then big change in the weather for Friday and the weekend, with clouds and a little stormy. Probably a good weekend to miss up here.

But what about wind at the Expo? Does anyone know enough about the Central Coast to know if the wind's going to be good down there? Has it been good lately? Ikite doesn't do forecasts, and there's not even a sensor at Pismo.

right now the wind is iffy but it is too early to tell for sure. I would recommend coming down to check out all the gear and if you get wind all the better

Isn't it kinda hard to check out kite gear without wind?

Mmmm. That kite looks nice. But I like the colors on that one better...

NWS Sacto is saying they think the timing of the high moving out too fast, but that Saturday will definitely be low pressure city.

Is that forecast for the Central Coast, Charlie? I don't know where Piedras Blancas is, but I know that SE 10 does not sound very kiteable.

It's been 101 degrees here for three days in a row. I need to get the heck out of the Central Valley.

forecast keeps on changing so it's hard to tell if we wil have good riding conditions on Sunday. Fri/Sat look good but not nuking for now. Depends on if the low passes or stalls....

MBS and Ground Industries will be at the Expo so participants can also try the kites on the mountain boards if the wind is too light or offshore. Let's hope the wind gods are good to us!

I am bringing my Flexi land board, and kites for the land session if there is not wind.
As long as there is 8mph I can go on my RRD Type 7 21m and the 152x45 FLX. (emphasis on the "go" unclear where the coming back will be) :-)

We are bringing a 30ft RV with all the toys anyone can thing (RRD, UG, Flexi, Naish, Caution, Ocean Rodeo, MYSTIC!! - the works) It should be fun.

I think this sensor is close, but not directly on the beach:
