You guys have a huge advantage though. No one is ever going to doubt a product from OZone. best unfortunately has to rebuild their bridges. I personally am waiting to try your product as I know you guys would never stick anything but a great product out there. I have been flying blades and razors for years and they are both top notch kites from 2 top notch companies.Yoda wrote:I want to say that the creditablity of a most sales reps is generally good. Many sales reps (like me) are independent contractors. Generally we are very particular about what we sell. We have to believe in the products we handle, so we tend to scrutinize every company that approches us. I try out everything I'm considering selling and give it my own tests, just like a consumer at a demo day. If it doesn't meet my expectations then I don't waste my time with it. For me, it's all about the quality and performance of the product(s) and my trust toward the mfg.windhorny wrote:You sound like a real salesman! It's always hard to tell the truth when a rep. is boasting their own goods. But I have heard alot of great things about it. Of course my source on the waroo comes from someone who doesnt sell best kites, so who to believe? Of course I would love to try one but that hasnt been a possibility yet here at Alameda. So far the slinghots is my overall favorite, but I havent flown any that dont use pulleys like the waroo, nova and sonic. Damn that one pump is nice though.
My enthusiasm for the brands I sell is no different than a consumer that just had a good experience with a product and wants to spread the word. I never slam the competition, but I'll point out what my brands are doing better and I'm never misleading.
All this being said, I'm the local Ozone rep. I'm very proud to be working with such a reputable company. We are currently the market leader in the foil kite business. Our quality and performance is renowned. In May we will be launching the new "Instinct" LEI. This is Ozone's first water specific kite, but with their kite building background and true R&D (not rip-off and dulplicate) with the bow design, I have no doubt this kite could be the "best bow kite to buy in 2006". I'm looking forward to many demo days this season... I want everyone to fly the "Instinct".
I can tout this kite all day long for its innovative concepts for a bow kite (no pullys, no bridles, no inversion, 5th line), but untill I and all of you have had a chance to fly it and come to our own conclusions, all I can say is hold out on a kite purchase untill you can demo this kite. Trust your "Instinct" and give it a go before purchasing "not the best bow kite to buy in 2006"! Cheers

I think Andy was referring to a comment he read on Kiteforum...that is what I was referring to in my response. It's one of the reasons you will only really see me posting here and a couple other local forums. I know most of the people in here and most people here know that I won't fly something I don't like and when I don't like something, I am the first to say it.elli wrote:
What is the purpose of this comment? You really think that people are looking for reasons to say something bad about the Waroo here? Its not kiteforum, it's a local forum. Many people here know each other, so I guess that they think twice before they write something. The nice thing about this forum is that it did not have the type of pimping that you see elsewhere. The shop owners that post here to push gear do it in good taste and they are pretty creditable.
Lets keep it this way.

Myself and Shannon Best are going to hhok up with the bus in the bay and ride up to the Gorge. Then it's back down to Pismo. We may even have a Best Girl or two with us.

Though I have only tried the 9m crossbow and did not like it last summer.
I am interested in trying the Globrider Sonic and the Waroo.
The Sonic because it looks like it flys well in many wind conditions and has two finger grip bar pressure.
The Waroo because I love the lime green and grey kite I saw at Alameda today.
And also because I am getting to old to get yarded!!!!!

This is a perfect example of a creditable sales rep. Bare in mind, I don't personally know Gabe, but from what I read, I feel he is legit. He encourages everyone to try all the bow kites, then try his brand's bow... If I'm confident about my product, I would pose the same challenge. He states that he went through the testing process and came to a conclusion that the Best Waroo was his kite of choice on a personal level. Due to his belief in the product and the fact Best approached him... he decided that this was something he could support and now is working for them. If he had not been approached (by Best) I'm sure his sentiments about the Waroo would still be the same. Being what was said, I feel you should take his statements with confidence, just as you might with a creditable fellow kiter.KillaHz wrote:That is why I keep encouraging everyone to try all the bow kites then try the waroo. That's pretty much what I did and it's pretty clear to me which kites I want to fly...one of the reasons I took the job with Best...they have some hot kites this year.

Much wisdom and experience this Ozone rep does have...speak he from knowledge and understanding of which only a Jedi Master does possess.Yoda wrote:This is a perfect example of a creditable sales rep. On our last Demo Day 2 weekends ago we had the following kites:
Gk Sonic
Best Waroo
Flexifoil ION
Caution Answer
as well as the RRD Total Depower System which makes any C-kite depower like a bow.
People were stoked with all of them. It was great.
More than 50 people were able to fly back to back all the kites (granded most of them at the beach) and see how they feel.
Last Saturday during our Wave Riding Clinic many got to play with the Flat kites in conditions from 12 to 20+mph.
At one time we had the following kites simultaneously riding and having a good time:
RRD
21m Type 7, 15m Type 7, 12m Type 7
GK Sonic
11m, 14m
Flexifoil ION
9m
Cabrinha XBow 12m
and more.....
We even got to set up an Ocean Rodeo ONE with the punch out bar which looks super cool - Jan figured it out and we couldn't believe what a nice Flat kite bar system it is.
Too bad Gabe was not there with his Waroos.
Luckily the Best bus will be here shortly so we will have plenty of time with more Waroos.
The point is that it will be hard to find a bad kite this year, so try as many as you can, let us know if we can help with a demo and enjoy the season that is almost here!
Peace,
Evan

I will be getting my demo kites in a few weeks. Windzup (US Ozone Dist.) will be getting their first shipment next week. I still need to put together a request of sizes - I'm starting with 3 kites for demo. Any thoughts for sizes? 7, 9, 11, 13, & 15m - however the 15 is not currently going to be available... waiting on the ETA. Ozone will be at the Kite Expo next month with a big demo fleet of kites, including plenty of Instincts. Cheers
P.S. Ozone demo kites for sale! Still some left!
