A meeting concerns rules/laws and cooperation PLEASE HELP

Post by Greg » Fri Mar 17, 2006 10:14 am

I'd like to see a meeting called ASAP and request the help of OTHERS.
Please make contact with your friends and try to get them to get on board, A BOARD OF DIRECTORS that is...
I will not lead this meeting, I am only calling it. Please come make a positive stand for OUR sport. We can do allot if we work togather toward a common goal.
We need to discuss a general plan of attack to deal growing issues, I.E. guide lines etc... that will work amoung our intire population, NOT JUST ALAMEDA!
We have numerous groups of kiters around the bay, lets try to get "A" meeting togather to develope a plan and re-start OUR season RIGHT- togather!!!
Please submit your new ideas to Ollie here at BAK to get them put down in writing for open discussion.
This is not a joke, please save your bullshit for the beach.
This needs to be run in a formal forum and the meeting needs to be held in a PUBLIC location. LETS DISCUSS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO, not what we are NOT WILLNG/GOING TO DO!
THANKS,
Greg Boyington

The City Council of the town where the "Jetty" near Seattle is located kicked $750,000 towards improvements in the spot, at least partially due to the popularity of the area for kiting.

Getting proactive around the Bay/Delta might go a long way not just to keeping kiting from getting banned, but to make our spots better and safer.

I can't make Sunday, though. It's still ski season at my house.

ONCE AGAIN:
Put your ideas in writing, Start hashing out larger details first, get your (kiter) friends involved, find out what the problems are, (f there are non- is this pure luck or the semi-effective measures already in place)?

A meeting time will need plunty of advance notice and publicity to be effective. This isnt about being hasty, we need concrete solutions that the general kiting population can live by... Our ideas must be thought out!! Our meeting must be made public, with proper notice. I live in Alameda but am willing to go to any location for a ligit meeting that is run in a proper manor. I say is should be not less then 1 hour nor more then 1.5 hours to be effective. (3/4 of the time should be for new ideas to be floored and the remainder to vote on every thing)
I'd recomend the meeting be held about a month from now.

We already have made numerous guidlines lets look them back over and deside WHAT WILL ACTUALLY WORK YEAR AROUND!!! (CONSISTANT POLICY IS KEY)

Meeting place suggestion: Somewhere close to a BART station. Driving can sometimes suck especially after work hours and weekends. More accessible = more participants.

I would like the meeting to be outdoors, and if you are discussing the Delta, it is represented by the RVWA-- Rio Vista Windsurfing Association;
they represent the kiters too www.RVWA.com

GREAT IDEAS, GOOD INFORMATION. Keepm comming....
L.M.G.
How about the suggestion of about a month? With the idea that we will have the meeting after a session (hopefully) at Alameda. I'll order a series of pizzas for delivery (each pays there share) for a snack etc...
We need to get a van to do a pick up from bart, no worries.
