I am saying that after my go out with Zeev at Dillion. We had 35 KNOTS sustained breeze, gusting mid 40's. Have you ever seen Zeev OP on a 7 at Rio....ever? I am pissed that I did not bring the 5 meter that I had in the garage. No way I would have dealt with the 9 meter.

I have not flown a flat kite, so I cannot say how it compares with the wave. Hey, why the heck are we all slaves to our desks on such a fine day?!

Bob
But will a flat kite be doable?? Also I think that winter wind and wind at the coast is more dense, so 30 knots at the coast is different from 30 knots inland during the summer. Also wind at higher elevation is less dense, so you could handle more wind on mountain lakes. At least I think. Maybe Gabe would know more about the winds at higher elevation.

So back to the TDB bar. Last years will work with my kite?

I feel ya Charlie. All this talk is for not. I haven't even flown the kites yet, and I'm on a spending lock down. I just need to stop buying and start kiting. Evan thinks I'll need a smaller bar for my 10m. If he's right I'll get the TDB2. I just need to get on the water soon. Distance and work could be a buzz kill.

know what you mean....I am waiting on the wind. I have no comment on the tdb with the hir. Never tried it, so I dunno...I like the stock type 7 bar as well as the tdb. The hir bar is probably fine. The type 7 has tons of depower on the stock bar...No real need for the tdb...

charlie...what are you going to do if you like one of the kites the most? Fly the 16 in 12 weather..? type wave at rio? I was kinda confused last year when I had the 10 type wave and the 13 ZH. very different kites...
