Crissy Field Webcam Change of View

Post by moblvet » Wed Feb 22, 2006 6:23 pm

Am sure since Exploratorium cam down for ages, most are using Crissy Field Webcam, where bay water, beach and rigging kites were in view. Notice now view devoid of each. Follows communication with them.

Raymond,
I agree that our new webcam is not as nice as the old one but we had to switch due to networking issues. Unfortunately you can't try out webcams before you buy. I'm not sure what we can do about this since we have already purchased it and we have a very limited technology budget here. I'll bring it up to my supervisors and see what we can do. Sorry for the inconvienence.
Jon

Perhaps its time for us on this forum or SFBA to step up to the plate and help them (Exploratorium and Crissy Field) get good cams up for general good and our need to see if its worth the drive.

I almost never kite Crissy but I'll put up 20 bucks for the cause,

STupid question: Is the Ikite sensor at Crissy unreliable? (I've never kited there)?

Or are you saying that a one-shot contribution of $20 would be cheaper than subscribing to Ikite?

I signed up for the SFBA and am also willing to contribute some $$ to get a proper Crissy webcam going that points at the sailing area and the launch zone. Let me know how I can help.
