Hey, I am going to throw my kites in the truck when I head to Berkeley on Saturday, but it just ain't looking good.

I'm with Gomez. I want a job where I can make mistakes 9 out of 10 times and still get to come to work every day.

And next week, well, all I can say is all us kiters need to find something else to do next week. High pressure means zero wind, and that's what's coming at us next week. They don't seem to be much good at forecasting wind, but it seems to be alot easily for them to tell when it's NOT going to blow.

Sorry Charlie. :( I'll try to watch my language from now on.

Hey Pablito maybe you should pick up a surf board and paddle out.
I am concidering waxing my board and going out for a surf sesc.

I use to surf about 3-4 times a week until I discovered kiteboarding.

Did anyone get any today? I unpacked my stuff from Baja and was ready, but never saw any big numbers, although OB looked like it was probably doable...

The graph from Tomales looked sweet.

Time to find something else to do this week -- offshore all week. And I hope they're wrong, but all the long range forecasts I've seen seem pretty confident that high pressure is going to stick around until mid-Feb.:(

East winds are good in Tahoe if they're strong enough.

Tahoe conditions

Post by zgur » Mon Feb 06, 2006 11:15 am

If you care, Tahoe was nice conditions yesterday (don't know about Saturday, I was @ a race all day). Up high on North stuff, it was sweet chalky windbuff conditions. On South facing aspects/slopes, the corn was really nice. Had to know where to go - isn't that alsways the case??

A Steady 20mph NE breeze on top kept the snow from getting too soft....also made for some VERY exciting traverses on the high stuff (big pucker factor). Two people had to be helicopter rescurued from the backcountry at Alpine (went on traverse that was quite firm, lost edge hold and sliiddddd).

Not a good day for snow kiting, a bit too firm. But an awesome day for skiing/snowboarding. I took my son on his first skin/descent - it was good times.

Later, Z.
