SEASON 3

Post by charlie » Wed Dec 21, 2005 5:19 pm

man what a year, new kite 12m rapture.......
was still gettn used to the 12m nitro.!
not much new for me tricks wise that is ...but a lot of comfort now,
i tended to self rescue very well this year, more then i did tricks, and now i feel real
confindents,in self rescue.
i may not throwdown bad assed stuff but.. when the shit hits the fan i can get myself back to
land,with the best of them!

got to watch so... much kiteing......saw ollie land fat assed kiteloops.
got to try some myself.
got to try kiter cross man it is soo much fun i was love n it
got to kite with Mr and Ms Chip.
got into speed kiteing .
got to kite with whitecap and famliy...at berkely.
got to see big assed fish out in the tules.
got to see ollie kite from pt emery to t.i. proper. and take me with him !
got to find a new put in after all most 24 years of looking for put ins.
got to fly yoko for a litte bit. that was fun!
Got to see this young guy kite rod and gun!! That was my frist sight of it,years ago
then at the frist X-games at T.I. i had the chance to work the wake event.I think it was 1999 i think?

two kiters came off T.I. and went down wind towards the bay bridge,(not good for kites)
i didnt know who at the time, but heard it was lue and ellit! wow what a sight
ive seen bard on the cory rossener delta wing fixed .and pay out bar with brake out at
Ptisabel same year and then out at T.I ripping and boostn,on a delta wing fixed.same year
seen gabe kite larkspure i think frist.
next chip, gabe and P-AIR ripping outside at berkely on a long down winder from i think, crissy
soon after that alameda bluw up! kiters every were i was windsurfing,

BeFor the frist K.W.S.downwinder, ollie and i started to reach for the half way point T.I.
we would sail way up wind so we could run down .we dont get much down wind sailing unless...
... we made it...going to weather.
i found a life jackit floteing around out there .. scared the crap out of me .......
ollie didnt notice it ... like he would? fly n around like a 5 year old all the time.
you never know what you might find out in the middle of the baY........
we ran into mr i dont kite any more... i put the pen in my ass 2 meny times....
that was fun... he was up at the rock #1...aka bloood ally.(no joke)
i dont like it there to much, i feel at any time..... BaM ... call 911, charlie down .
if i leve my truck at pt emery and kite up to ...were ever, i can derift down to my car.
if i start at the rock #1 and drift .........i go to pt emery any way, so .....
i might leve my truck there ,so i can get home.

Kite n is so much fun !
When jeff from K.W.S. had his kiter cross demo out in the tules...,
i saw jeff crash, then let go of his bar, duck under the water and dolfin kick- drag up wind like stright up wind,
very wild sight, we were kiter cross n and he fell,i was bring n up the rear, and when i went buy
he poped up at his board, and smiled at me ... he went on to win that race . funny, good times

I saw a lot more kiters, checkn out at pt emery this year . .thats been scary but good
you guys just got to think about it more, dont just jump out there boys and grils.
dont just pump up 3 kites and jump out there, watch for it a bit ....say 20,min..
( aka 20 min rule )? watch and see what others are doing and how there are doing.

DO NOT KITE RIGHT IN FRONT OF tHE BEACH.at any beach!

KEEP yOUr KItE UP high so you can have a good stroke to help you out when you NeeD IT.

I got to run in front of the k.w.s frist downwinder with kitechick and some others...
and to look up wind, and see 40+ kiters.. rain n down on pt emery was a gas.
that was a very nice sesion.i came back to pt emery......last.
I got more .
i got to watch L.M.G> rip up and out to a flate water spot that is hard to get too,he just left my area code
i watched him and ollie dance that mess around for awile in the "squters cove"

I often wender why so meny kiters dont learn to sail..? you know go upwind go downwind
learn the rules of the road and use them?
i see kiters get up on the board then, right to try n tricks..? right on the shore?
take it up wind and outside please.learn to drag around ,upwind downwind.
Go somewere!
Bang out into the middle of the bay, it is very dieverce, you dont know what your gonna run into?
I have seen some shi^, o ah lots of things going on out there, away from land.
better wind ,better water and some of the most spectaculer views ever, every were you look.

Very wild year, this 3rd sesion, i hope to play more, with the next one!

You guys are lucky to live near the bay!! 3 more months till I become a bad employee again. Maybe I'll get a promotion and just babysit other bad employees.

Charlie, I am going to get emotional on your as....
Thank you for sharing your stoke. I do have to admit that you are the ultimate reluctant teacher. You have yealled, helped, launch and landed my kite all in one breath.
Thanks to you, and a few others kiters out there, I can call myself a kiteboarder who is looking forward to his 3rd season.
I can only hope that by the end of next season i can share my stoke the same way and hopefully pass on some of the lessons i have learned from youon to others

I wish all you kiters out there a happy new year and a happy new season
