Actually, if you're snowkiting with a regular LEI (no Jumpstart, etc), having a trailing edge 5th line is almost a requirement. You use it to reverse relaunch the kite when it hits the snow LE down. You attach two pigtails to the struts, make a V with line, then run a fifth line down to your bar. But while you're kiting, it's slack.
