Anyone seen the new best waroo promo vid?

Just thought I'd let you know, It's Unncanny the similarity's between the waroo promo and the Xbow. It's a fatty ripoff is all I have to say.

I might not be surprised. Their banner ad with a pink and black kite and T&A spot was enough to thwart me. Despite Shannon's talent and record, Alex has proven that he's not to be trusted. Sorry, but credibility is a bit low at the moment. :-k

I think you hit the nail on the head with that on every consecutive article that I've read by best, they always contradict eachother. Their advertisements are more like propaganda than any other kite brand.

You really cain't trust anything they say.

I agree with LMG. And Guys why is a girl so bad?? Tell me you guys didn't look forward to the reef ads in surfer mags every month back in the day (I think they still have them?) Is a little T&A so bad?? They were filming from Brazil.

So what's the verdict on the kite, and the riders?? Look beyond the bootie........

The price is pretty attractive, but it seems like you need to buy the bar, too. I looked, but they don't seem to have a picture of the bar on the site.

Have you (or anyone else) seen a review of the Rapture 2 with a B-Safe or other standard bar? I'm wondering how the bar pressure is if you're not using the CC bar.

The waroo is actually kind of a ripoff because even the airush halo is cheaper than the waroo.

After their past HF debacle I'm reserving judgement on the Waroo until I can actually give it a try myself... but it does look pretty good in the video.

The bar is not yet available, but from what I've heard, it's essentially going to be their standard bar with a longer depower throw and long trim strap so you can access the full range of the kite. Sounds very similar to the WW B-safe setup.

Speaking from experience having had some time of the Best kites, I'm sure the new ones perform fine, the Yargas and Nemisis kites I flew brought me tons of fun. I guess for me, it's just a culmination of things - much of which results in a certain brand stigma which I don't want to be a part of. The advertising and marketing has always been just too much and everything is always totally overdone, no sublety about it. Shapely tan booty and t&a is fine and I like is as much as the next guy (or gal, whatever the case may be!), but done in a tasteful way. I think they've overdone it a bit, same as Jimmy Lewis, some of his ads have been in pretty bad taste, but I liked the Bitch Witch! Anyway, take the constant over the top hype, reliance on heavy T&A, and anything Alex says (do you trust him?) and it's all rather unappealing. From everything I've *ever* heard, Shannon is an A1 standup guy too, not to mention an insane rider, so it's a bit of a drag that they've (marketing) have always gone the way they have. But again, in all fairness, I didn't find anything wrong with the gear other than some bar issues which were worked out early. Well, that and the whole HF thing....
