GK-Trix "most versatile surf kite" by SBC mag

Don't believe me....read this independent review.

GK doesn't have all the hype of some kites, but it is a better product. <--according to SBC mag's 10 tester panel.

Reality Check
It takes some time to understand where to set the kite for different feel and performance. The heavy-duty build and freestyle-oriented performance take away from low-end power and some and upwind performance

More reality check  :

Read review of each kite tested to get the real story on what THEY thought was best:

http://www.sbckiteboard.com/2011-kitesu ... te-reviews

Not a comprehensive test either since they didn't test each and every kite out there.

Note, two other kites were rated best overall surf "performance".

The only real way to see if a kite is best for you it to try it yourself.

F-One Bandit 4 is the best for me. :supz:

When I'm on the water, I don't think I've ever thought about the versatility of my kite, I'm focused on the performance. What is versatile? Having or capable of many uses? Variable or changeable? Those are good things, sure. But, for instance, about the Rally:

"SBC Kiteboard test team ranked the 2011 Slingshot Rally in the surf head-to head test as the best in depower (tied with Varial), and best overall surf performance. (tied with Rebel).

Highlights
• One of the fastest turning speeds of the test
• Direct, pivotal steering, with no pulleys
• Quick and effortless water relaunch"

Best in depower? Best overall surf performance? Now that's a winner, and, best for me. :P

J-gar is sponsored by F-One, BayAreaKite is sponsored by Slingshot.....I am a GK dealer....we all have our biases....read the test.

FWIW, I converted 3 SS-Rally riders in Delray, FL a couple of weeks ago after they tried the Trix....in waves. Bottom line, don't believe the hype, try yourself. I'm always available to give anyone a demo. Just give a call. info@litewavedesigns.com

I'll second that vote for the Rally as best surf kite.

One thing I will say, is that GK kites speak for themselves as surf kites, at least in NorCal.

Exactly, don't believe the hype and don't rely on a magazine of a couple of test riders to make your decision, try the kites yourself :)

Just like Car of the year according to Motortrend in 1976 was the Plymouth Volare :confusion-confused:

Hey! I used to have a Plymouth Volare! And a Dodge Dart, and two Plymouth Valiants, and a Datsun 510, and two Toyota Corollas, and a 4 door Chevelle and a Ford Thunderbird and a VW squareback and a bunch more... the Volare was not my favorite though...
