Re: New 2010 Pismo Beach's KiteXPO Location
guys,
it normally blows at Pismo Pier during season except when we get a high pressure system and temps go above 75 or so. That being said, the wind does tend to stay longer/more consistent the further south you go. What held us back from here was snowy plover restrictions, all the beach car/moto traffic and working with the state versus the city (more $$, more hoops/regulation, etc).
We moved event NORTH of Grand Ave exit where cars can't drive after approx 100 feet. Please make sure if you go further south that you DO NOT LAUNCH/LAND SOUTH OF PIER AVE AS THAT IS SNOWY PLOVER RESTRICTED AREA. IF YOU GET FLUSHED, WALK BACK IN THE WATER LINE.
RE: lodging, I think it is better to stay in Pismo Beach as they have nicer hotels/restaurants and infrastructure than Grover Beach/Oceano.
