Learning w 6M 4 line kite trainer

just got a new kite. been using a 3M 2 line kite for about 2 years. upgraded to a 6M 4 line kite. just launched it yesterday and found that the upper lines have to be pulled so far back to get the kite airborne. the handles and almost flat and the upper strings really hurt the tops of my fingers. if i barely straighten them, the kite comes straight down. anybody HELP???? also looking for a training video ASAP. going to hawaii monday 8-4 and have a lesson tues morning. would like to have some practice before i go.

You mention the "handles"...sounds like you are flying a 4-line foil kite that has "brake" lines. This kite will not handle quite like an inflatable kiteboarding kite. You really should have a kite with a control bar to get the right feel for kite control.
What is the brand and model of your 6m 4-line kite.
