I love being a part of this young company because they listen to what the riders want. Over the last couple years, we've really seen a change in what kind of waves we can ride and how we ride them. I, personally could count the number of twin-tip sessions I've had in the last year on one hand. For me, I am constantly chasing that surf feeling with the kite. For years, I would get into a wave and just want to ditch the kite and surf. Well, Eclipse has the solution in 2009. The all new Wave-dedicated, Kima in wave specific sizes 4,6,9m.

"Eclipse makes products for a purpose, when I tried the KIMA I knew eclipse nailed it 100% with this kite, that was the first SLE kite I could use in the waves! Eclipse does a great job-making top of the line performance products. I like the simple and progressive approach Eclipse brings to the sport." - Felix Pivec
The Kima does everything a wave kite should. It creates power where there is none, it just backs up and waits as you ride towards it, and it depowers instantly when you want to create space. Want to ride unhooked? No problem. The Kima will just fade while you hit the lip and be waiting for you when you are ready to hook back in.
For the Freestyler's and racers out there, this years Thruster is the kite to look out for as it boosts bigger than ever and has some incredible hang-time. I don't know how they do it but they make the big sizes feel like small kites yet boost incredibly huge. The Thruster is also a great race kite as it goes to windward like you wouldn't believe and it does a great fade as you race downwind towards the kite. If any of the top ten racers this year in the Thursday Night series are looking for a new ride, I guarantee this kite will move you up in the ranks.

The Thruster is also the top choice of Arial artist, Dimitri Maramenides who likes to ride the 10 meter in just about all conditions. Dimitri is known for his innovative, dynamic moves at altitude and that is exactly what the Thruster is designed for.

The new 2009 Nano is the real sleeper. This is a kite that I thought we were just putting out for beginners and as a price point option. I have been riding the 9m in the waves and on the flat water and I love it. Many of our snowkiters can't say enough good things about this kite and as it turns out this kite is what every wake style rider is looking for; a buckety kite that sits back a bit in the window and allows the rider to get great pop. It has some horizontal yank on it to help create that slacked lines the wake style rider is looking for.

Our snowkiters up in Oregon can't get enough of this kite and I can wait to get up there in the snow. I've been getting photos and videos emailed to me by our snowkite specialist in Oregon from southern oregon kite addicts, Matt Thames and I can't believe the quality riding we have within a 6 hour drive of the bay. I propose a road trip. Matt has organized the 2nd annual Snow Daze this year and I plan to attend for sure.

Check out this video that Matt sent me this morning from the southern oregon mountains.
