Is it safe to kite at Alameda since the oil spill?
Looks like a good chance of early morning/afternoon winds? Anyone down. Looks like strong winds so bring small kites but this is Alameda so probably best to pack the 12 as well. Gotta check my gear tonight. Been a long time since I have been on the water.

Pipe! You disappeared man.
I went out a few days after the spill when all the signs were up and there aint nothing out there. And by now i am sure whatever was floating has coagulated down low and will only surface slowly over the next millenia. :(
But is tomorrow blows early my suggestion is to sieze the moment. i waited today for a few hours thinking it would just die down. Well it only died down right after i got suited up at 3. So Ill be out there bright and early if we actually get a puff.

I'm looking outside and the water is ebbing fast with the start of the south winds. Direction is great, side on shore(south obviously) . Brush is moving faster than trees, trying to figure this out but looks like it will be a possible 7-10meter day for sure. I'll have hot cocoa waiting on the porch.
