Wind Conditions at 3rd after work hours?
Post

What are the wind conditions at 3rd after work hours?
I want to try to make it during the week instead of just hitting it up during the weekends.
Since it stays light out for quite some time, I would hope that the wind stays up until around 7:30pm.

3rd ave wind maxes at 4 pm and blows till around 6:30 or 7. the wind shuts off fast, so pay attention....average kite size is 14 probably.

hmmm sounds good, if i can get in 30 mins to 1hour a day after work I will be happy.
Not too happy about the wind shutting down fast. I know during the low tide the water isnt that deep but still it is going to be a pain to self-rescue in.
thnx

You mean sludge through the mud in. On low tide you can walk in from half a mile out.

I would say average size kites at this time of the year is 12m. I usually ride a 8-9m kite but I have a smaller build. The wind is usually low 20's by 4pm.

lol ya i am out by 5ish, takes time to get to 3rd with a little traffic, and then time to get ready/setup. I figure in the water by 6 hoping for the wind to stay for at least a 30 min - 1 hr.
maybe i am being too hopeful heh.
