Hello from Tarifa

Hi guys.

How has the kiteboarding been in Alameda? I recently moved to Tarifa, Spain to teach kiteboarding and it has been pretty crazy. Today, I had two British students with a 5m kite in about 40mph of wind.

I thought about Alameda the other day and smiled because I remembered how often we all come to the beach and then stand around shaking our heads because of the lack of wind. I also remembered this funny post about an individual claiming to have seen a topless sun-bather at Alameda. There were a flurry of replies, the jist of which was they the person had imagined the whole thing. Here, nothing is left to the imagination. Not only is the wind strong, usually with a minimum of 20mph (I still havent bothered to learn the equivalent in km per hr), but there are countless HOT babes on the beach wearing almost no clothing.

Notwithstanding the obvious advantages of kiting in Tarifa, I miss all of the folks back home. With a 5 mile long beach and literally 1000 kiters on a busy summer day, there just isnt the same sense of community that I sensed back home. Good luck to all and I hope the wind is strong for you.

Actually she just told me last night she isnt going there specifically due to the over crowded beaches. thanks though. So have you been making boards out of spanish ply?

Most people use Spanish Fly, although Yohimbe is popular also...
